Outstanding food and an atmosphere that's exactly what you'd expect for an out of the way hole-in-a-wall. Their brisket was great, the best I've ever had at a restaurant, and I'm already plotting out a return trip. The only downside to be found is the cloud of cigarette smoke that hangs over the dining area, though Pilot House probably wouldn't feel quite so authentic without it.

Excellent food! I love this hole-in-a-wall place in Cape Girardeau. The servers are alway polite and quick. The only reason I give them 4 stars vs 5 stars, is that they allow smoking so I do avoid going on weekend nights as I cannot stand the smoke.

One more example of how some of the best food is found at hole-in-the-wall places. The have an expansive (not expensive) menu, and everything I've tried has been really good. That said - I can't stop ordering BBQ there. The kabobs are great, the steaks are good, the catfish is super, but the BBQ rules!

Food is fantastic at this place. I loooooved the chili. If you want a casual place, with friendly folks and yummy food--this is it. There's table seating or you could sit at the bar.

Best BBQ place in Cape. I suggest the Tank, a couple of Stags on draft, homemade bread pudding (it has apple chunks), and a side of lung cancer. If you want to leave out the lung cancer, try going to the Pilot House at an off hour.

atmosphere is a bit smokey and the place is hard to find if you're not from around the area, but you'll be hard-pressed to find anything on the menu that isnt outstanding! the bbq sandwiches, especially the Big Hot Cheese and The Tank are amazing. The stuffed mushrooms and Wings are the best you'll find. The fried catfish is perfect, the seasoning on the fries is uniquely delicious, and the twice baked potatoes are the size of your head!.. ive travelled all over the country and have yet to find a better restaraunt.

I've been here a few times, and I was impressed both times. You get your food quickly and it comes in ample portions. The twice baked potatoes are a must. I brought my friend with me who doesn't even like BBQ and even he was impressed. One of the best, if not the best places to eat in Cape Girardeau.
